UPDATED: Four Storey Building Under Construction Collapses In Lagos After Downpour
….Two Dead, Two Rescued Alive

A four-storey building under construction has just collapsed under the torrential rainfall at 4, Alayaki Lane, Lagos Island on Saturday, kadecommunicationng can authoritatively confirm.
In a preliminary report released by the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), the collapsed building is situated at number 4, Alayaki lane, Lagos Island.
According to the report which was signed by the LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, “The Agency responded to the above incident which was already in violation of building safety protocols.
“It was discovered that the building had been captured by the LASBCA District Office and served with all Statutory Notices, Sealed at District and Central Enforcement Level.
“Further investigation determined that the developer had continued clandestine operations mostly at night and at the weekends.
“An unconfirmed number of people are still trapped inside the building. Two people have been rescued alive while another two were recovered dead.
“Search and Rescue operations is ongoing.”
