Customers Stranded As Power Outage Hits SHOPRITE Ota
Yinka Olajoyetan, Lagos
Many customers were left stranded inside and outside ShopRite in Ota, Ogun State on Saturday due to a lack of power supply which lasted for hours.
When kadecommunicationng Correspondent got to the entrance of ShopRite in Ota on Saturday, many customers were seen standing outside as they were not allowed in by security operatives due to the blackout.
Also, some customers who had made purchases were left stranded inside as they were not able to make payments due to the blackout that had also affected the payment systems of the mall.
One of the workers at the entrance of the mall who wouldn’t want his name in print explained that they are working on putting on the generators to ensure steady power supply at the mall.
As at the time of filling in this report, the doors leading into the shopping mall was shut as power supply was yet to be restored.
Some customers who were not shocked at the situation at ShopRite said its not the first time the mall will be locking out customers due to power Outage.
“The management of this particular ShopRite in Ota are running down the mall. The generators have all packed up, so once public power supply goes, they close their doors to customers,” the customers told kadecommunicationng.
Efforts to speak to any senior official of the mall proved abortive as our correspondent couldn’t gain entrance into the mall
