Provide Data That Will Enhance Tax Collection, FIRS Charges MTN

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has urged MTN Nigeria to support it with data that will aid tax collection.
The Executive Chairman of the FIRS, Zacch Adedeju disclosed this recently when the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, Karl Toriola paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
In a post on its social media handles on Tuesday, FIRS revealed that the purpose of the courtesy visit was to continue the fruitful relationship between MTN as a large taxpayer and the FIRS.
“The ECFIRS, Zacch Adedeji PhD and members of the management team met with the CEO MTN, Karl Toriola and his team at the FIRS headquarters, Abuja.
“The purpose of the courtesy visit was to continue the fruitful relationship between MTN as a large taxpayer and the FIRS.
“In his address, the ECFIRS noted that the FIRS is going through transformative restructuring which started on February 1st, 2024. The restructuring was done to provide a platform that will serve taxpayers well.
“He admonished MTN to support the FIRS with data that will enhance tax collection within the parameters of data security.
“He concluded that the relationship between MTN and FIRS is a symbiotic one because the existence of one determines the existence of the other,” the FIRS stated on its social media handles on Tuesday.
