Unilag Alumni Celebrates Agbede’s Appointment As Access Holdings CEO

The University of Lagos Alumni Association on Tuesday celebrated the appointment of Ms. Bolaji Agbede appointment as acting Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, the parent company of Access Bank Plc.
In a post on its social media handles, the Alumni association said it believes in Agbede’s capacity to steer the company into greater heights.
“One of us, Ms. Bolaji Agbede has just been elevated to the position of Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, the parent company of Access Bank Plc – Nigeria’s largest bank by assets.
“She will be replacing Dr. Herbert Wigwe, CFR, who died in the ill-fated helicopter crash in California on Sunday.
“Ms. Agbede holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Lagos (1990) and a Master of Business Administration degree from Cranfield University in 2002. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management UK and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
“A renowned human resource professional with over 27 years of experience in Human Resources management, customer relationship management, and banking operations, she had formerly served as the bank’s head of Group Human Resources for 12 years between 2010 and 2022 and bank’s most senior founding Executive Director in Business Support. She has spent 21 years at Access Bank, having first joined as the Assistant General Manager, responsible for managing the bank’s portfolio of chemical trading companies.
“Congratulations Ms. Agbede, we believe in your capacity to steer the company into greater heights. We are proud of you!,” a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of Unilag Alumni Association, Funmi Falobi stated.
