Non-State Actors Have Role To Play In Maritime Security-Jamoh

Fred Omotara, Lagos
The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh has said that Non-State actors have a role to play in ensuring security in the nations maritime sector.
Speaking on Tuesday when he received the executives of the Maritime Security Providers Association of Nigeria (MASPAN), Dr. Jamoh explained that collaboration is the key to sustain maritime security in Nigerian waters.
According to the NIMASA DG, “Meeting earlier today with the executives of the Maritime Security Providers Association of Nigeria, I explained that collaboration is the key to sustained maritime security.
“While so much has been achieved by the State actors, including NIMASA, the Nigerian Navy and other security agencies of government, there is always room for the Non-State actors, such as MASPAN, who are also stakeholders.”
