Some senior Pastors and Apostles of the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos are currently not happy over the announcement of Pastor Jimi Odukoya, son of late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, as General Overseer of the church.
Recall that Pastor Jimi Odukoya was announced as the new General Overseer of the church on Sunday, overtaking several other more experienced deputies, assistants and apostles after the death of his dad Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, husband to late Bimbo Odukoya.
Pastor Jimi also assumed the office of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Church as announced by the church on Sunday.
According to sources in the church, some senior Pastors are not happy that the leadership of the church is falling from father to son.
“It’s a church of God, not a kingdom, why should Jimmy succeed his late father?,” Some Senior Pastors who wouldn’t want to be quoted asked.
“Leadership of a church should be decided spiritually, not hereditary,” others questioned the manner of succession.
Jimi who is expected to take over as the General Overseer officially from September 30, is a Nollywood actor
His sister, Tolu Odukoya Ijogun is the new associate Pastor of the Church
