No Consensus Chairmanship Candidate In Ojokoro LCDA-Aspirants
Some concerned Chairmanship Aspirants in Ojokoro LCDA has refuted claims that a consensus has been reached within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to adopt Mr. Mobolaji Sanusi as the party’s sole chairmanship candidate in Ojokoro LCDA.
In a statement titled: False claim of consensus endorsement in Ojokoro LCDA-Public Deception Must Stop, the concerned Aspirants said that the list being shared by Mr. Sanusi was merely an attendance list from a meeting with the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, not an endorsement list.
According to the concerned Aspirants, “The attention of the good people of Ojokoro LCDA, party stakeholders, and the general public has been drawn to a misleading and fraudulent claim being circulated on social media by Mr. Mobolaji Sanusi and his supporters. This claim suggests that a consensus has been reached within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to adopt him as the party’s sole chairmanship candidate in Ojokoro LCDA.
“We wish to categorically state that this claim is false, deceptive, and aimed at misleading the public. The list being shared by Mr. Sanusi was merely an attendance list from a meeting with the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, not an endorsement list. There was no agreement, no vote, and no consensus decision reached at that meeting.
“This act of misinformation is a desperate attempt to gain undue advantage and subvert the democratic process. As of today, seventeen (17) aspirants have picked up nomination forms and are fully committed to participating in the forthcoming primaries.
“It is deeply concerning that Hon. Olotu Emmanuel, a serving member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, is reportedly the key figure behind this manipulation, attempting to force Mr. Sanusi on the people of Ojokoro for his own personal political interests.
“We also have credible information that former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. James Owolabi, who recently left office and is facing financial difficulties, has allegedly been given ₦10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira) by Hon. Olotu Emmanuel and the Speaker to support and validate this fake list.
“We call on the Lagos State leadership of the APC and all relevant authorities to ensure that Ojokoro LCDA conducts a transparent, fair, and credible primary election. No individual or clique has the right to impose candidates against the will of the people.
“Let it be known: Ojokoro is not for sale. The people must decide.
