Nigerians React As Amaechi, Tinubu Meet At Lagos Airport
Fred Omotara, Lagos
Reactions have continued to trail the meeting of two political gladiators of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos.
Recall that the two men have both declared their intention to run for the sole Presidential ticket of the APC come next year’s Presidential election.
In a post monitored on Twitter by kadecommunicationng, a Twitter user, @sulaiman wondered why supporters of both politician are at daggers drawn when the two men could be seen enjoying themselves in a chat at the Lagos airport.
According to @sulaiman, “This is the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi in a warm discussion with the former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu. Yet, the supporters of both men have been slandering each other in the media, calling themselves names all because of the political ambition of this men that have crossed path.”
In another post, a Twitter user @Oluwaseun wondered why the Minister of Transportation is raising his hands up for the former Lagos State Governor. In his post, @Oluwaseun stated that, “Is Amaechi conceding defeat to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu? Why are his two hands raised up? Is he saying “twale Sir”?
Also, another Twitter user @Chinedu stated that the two men meeting at the Lagos airport is a pointer to the fact that Nigerians need to become wiser in following politicians.
“Nigerians will kill themselves to support this two men in their quest to achieve their political ambition, but their supporters will be blind to see here that they don’t have any ill feelings towards each other. Politics is a game, not a do or die affair. Wish we all become wiser and stop wasting precious lives for these men while they enjoy themselves,” @Chinedu stated on his Twitter handle
