Nigeria Records 54% Indigenous Participation In Oil & Gas Industry-NCDMB

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) on Monday said Nigeria has achieved 54 percent local content participation in her oil & gas industry.
The Executive Secretary NCDMB, Engr. Wabote Simbi stated this when he received a delegation from the Ministry of Commerce & Mines, Republic of Guinea, led by its Executive Director of BSTP, Saifoulaye Balde’ at the Board’s liaison office in Abuja.
Mr. Balde’, in his remark thanked Engineer Wabote and his team for the warm reception. He said, he is here with his team to learn first hand from the NCDMB on how Local Content implementation is working in Nigeria and what measures they can put in place back home to achieve their mandate.
In his remarks, Engr. Wabote outlined the challenges Nigeria faced before the enactment of the Local Content Act in 2010. He said NCDMB has been bullish and focused on its core mandates, and that is why Nigeria have recorded a 54 percent local content Participation in her oil and gas industry.
Engr. Wabote thanked the Republic of Guinea delegation for the visit and assured them of the Board’s willingness to help them achieve the aim of their visit. He also invited them to visit and tour the Board’s Nigerian Content Tower Headquarters building in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State
