IMO Secretary General Meets Nigeria’s Minister Of Transportation, Heads Of Maritime Agencies

After arriving Nigeria on Sunday for the first time ever, the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), His Excellency Kitack Lim met with the Minister of Transportation, Alhaji Mu’azu Jaji Sambo and other Heads of Maritime agencies, including some private sector players yesterday evening during a dinner held in his honour.

The chanced meeting which witnessed discussions on Nigeria’s vibrant maritime industry, also set the tone for today’s Nigeria’s International Maritime Summit (NIMS).

According to sources in the nations maritime industry, the IMO Secretary General, aside gracing the NIMS event today, will also commission some projects that has been completed by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) under Dr. Bashir Jamoh
