FESAN Backs Female Candidate For IMO Secretary General Position

The Female Seafarers Association of Nigeria (FESAN) at the weekend backed the candidature of Ambassador Nancy Kariguthu for the position of the Secretary General of International Maritime Organization (IMO).
In a post on social media, the Nigerian female seafarers group stated that, “To be a first female Secretary General of the IMO would be a significant achievement and would serve as an inspiration for women and girls all around the world.
“It would demonstrate that woman can hold positions of leadership and power on the global stage, and that their voices and perspectives are valued.
“We at the Female Seafarers Association of Nigeria are inspired by the ambition and support Ambassador Nancy Kariguthu candidature for IMO Secretary General.”
