70years Old Nigerian Diplomat Missing In US Found Dead
…..As NIDCOM Demands Investigation

A 70years Old Nigerian Diplomat, Ejeviome Otobo last seen on June 15th, 2022 in New York has been confirmed dead.
In a condolence message to his friends and family on Monday, Hon. (Dr) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) described the death of the 70- year old Ejeviome Otobo in USA as very sad and painful, and called for an independent investigation into the cause of his death.
The condolence message which was signed on Monday by the Head, Media and Public Relations, NIDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, quoted the NIDCOM Boss has using the opportunity to console with Otobo’s friends and family.
According to the statement, “In a condolence message, Dabiri-Erewa said the circumstances of Otobo’s sudden disappearance and eventual death was very disturbing and heartbreaking.
“The NIDCOM boss consoled with the family of Ambassador Otobo, Family and friends and prayed unto God to grant him eternal rest.
“She, however, called for an independent investigation into the mysterious sudden disappearance of the Diplomat and his eventual death in USA.
“Mr Otobo, a former Nigeria Diplomat and Ambassador was found dead after been declared missing and was last seen in Tuckahoe, New York, on June 15.
“The Tuckahoe police department on June 19 announced in a Facebook post that Otobo was missing and requested information from the public.
“A few days after, the police announced that Otobo had been found dead and sent condolences to his family.
“Between December 2006 to October 2013, Otobo held the positions of Director and Deputy head of the Peacebuilding Support Office at the UN’s New York headquarters.
“From February to August 2009, Otobo acted as the assistant secretary-general at the UN.
“At the Global Governance Institute in Brussels, Belgium, he held the position of non-resident senior fellow in Peacebuilding and Global Economic Policy up until his death.”
