Receivership Scandal: EFCC Storms Arik Air, Inspects Records, Assets

Findings have revealed that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has been investigating Arik Air in Receivership following an alleged Asset Stripping under the airlines Receiver Management, with no fewer than eight aircrafts stripped bare to carcasses at the airlines hanger at the Murtala Mohammed Airport.
According to sources, the anti graft agency officials paid Arik Air an unscheduled visit two weeks ago following an allegation that an aircraft was being torn down, to be shipped in parts.
Some officials of the airline connected to Aircraft tear-down were then grilled by officials of the anti graft agency, and were asked to report to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.
When contacted by kadecommunicationng over the Investigation of the airlines Receivership Management by the EFCC, Arik Air Spokesman, Mr. Banji Ola said he is not aware of such development.
“I am not aware,” Mr. Banji Ola replied to a mesàge from kadecommunicationng.
Recall that a leasing firm, JEM Leasing Limited, owners of a CRJ-1000 registered with 5N-JEE to Arik Air recently disassociated itself from the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) controlled airline in Receivership, refuting Arik Air announcement purporting that it was selling or tearing down the CRJ-1000 aircraft.
The leasing firm had equally called for a criminal investigation into the Receivership, describing the announcement as criminal
