Okada Ban: Both Rider, Passenger Will Be Arrested, Prosecuted-Police

The Lagos State Police Command on Saturday warned that the new law banning commercial motorcycles in the State also implies that both the rider and the passenger will be arrested and prosecuted if they breach the new regulation.
In a post on his Twitter handle which was monitored by kadecommunicationng on Saturday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Spokesman of the Command explained that ignorance will not be an excuse if a passenger is caught riding a commercial motorcycle on the highways of the affected Local Government.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, “Under the new total ban of motorcycles in six local government areas of Lagos State, passengers and riders alike will be arrested and prosecuted. The passenger is an accomplice. Ignorance will not be an excuse!”
When asked by one @Akinwumi Opeoluwa that what will happen if the rider is a policeman and the passenger is a civilian, Hundeyin stated that, “Both will also be arrested except the passenger is also a policeman and they are both on uniforms
