Ogun Governor Overlooks Kunle Somorin, Appoints Lekan Adeniran As CPS

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has appointed Lekan Adeniran as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), failing to re-appoint Kunle Somorin who had served as his CPS in his first term.
The Governor in a statement signed late on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi, announced Lekan Adeniran as the new CPS.
Mr Talabi in the statement said, “the appointment takes immediate effect.”
Talabi described Adeniran as a graduate of Mass Communication with “over three decades experience as a journalist.”
The statement said the appointee started his journalism career at The Guardian in 1992, where he covered the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Lagos State House of Assembly and Governor’s Office, Alausa, Ikeja.
“He left The Guardian in 2001 to join the newly established Daily Independent. The new CPS also worked with the Compass, Next and National Mirror newspapers.
“Before the appointment, he was the editor of WesternPost, an online newspaper publication,” the statement read in part
