ISWAP abandon canoes loaded with food as military comb Lake Chad

Following heavy firepower from the Nigerian troops during an operation in the Lake Chad region, the ISWAP elements said to have been in control of the area lately were said to have abandoned their canoes carrying food items for their foot soldiers while fleeing military operations.
A statement from Colonel Muhammad Dolé, Chief of Military Public Information, FMM HQ, N’Djamena, Chad, on Wednesday revealed that the Sector 1 Amphibious Task Force (Cameroon) intensified river patrols and assaults against TBHs in the general area of Tchol and Chaka.
“During these operations, upon seeing the advancing patrol teams, some suspected terrorist logisticians fled and abandoned canoes loaded with sacks of food (cereals) and other materials intended for the criminals,” the statement said.
According to the statement, all items were confiscated and destroyed as troops continued to patrol the waterways to block possible escape and supply routes used by the terrorists
