IMO Organises Symposium Ahead January 2024 Single Window Deadline
Fred Omotara, Lagos
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is set to host a symposium with the theme “Maritime Single Window 2024” on the 18th to 19th of January ahead of it’s deadline to member States to implement Single Window in all ports world-wide.
In a post on its social media handles on Tuesday, the IMO stated that the symposium offers a genuine window of opportunities for member States to use robust international standards to communicate between ships and shores, thereby improving port call efficiency and ultimately reducing emissions.
According to the IMO, “The IMO, IAPH and BIMCO is organising a hybrid symposium with support from iPCSA at the IMO headquarters in London.
“The event on the 18-19th of January will bring together institutions, governments, port authorities, industry associations, shipowners and solution providers from around the world.’
