How Maritime Academy Honoured Otunba Kunle Folarin A Year Before Demise-Rector

Rector of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Commodore Duja Effedua (rtd) has said that Otunba Kunle Folarin, until his death, was a pillar to the Academy. This is even as the Rector said that he is glad the Academy honoured Otunba Kunle Folarin with a Street in his name a year before death came calling.

Speaking with kadecommunicationng on the sad development on Thursday, Commodore Duja Effedua said that he never knew that his last discussion with Otunba Kunle Folarin on the 6th of November was a goodbye discussion.

According to the Maritime Academy Rector, “We shared a lot and he told me a lot of things lately and plenty of advices. He also told me about his situation. He has always been a pillar. He will surely be missed. How sad!

“We chatted last on 6 November. I never knew that was his goodbye. I am glad we chatted.”
On Otunba Kunle Folarins’ contribution to the Academy, Commodore Duja Effedua said that, “He was passionate about the progress of the Academy .
“He made four personal visits at his own expense to support our work. He was a great Nigerian. I am glad we honoured him with a Street at the Academy in recognition of his contributions to the Institution.”
