HAPPENING NOW: Customs Concludes Destruction Of 48 Container Loads Of Pharmaceuticals In Lagos

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Monday concluded the destruction of pharmaceutical drugs concealed in 48 containers in Epe area of Lagos.
During evacuation of the containers, some were found to contain packets of tiles which were used to conceal the banned pharmaceutical drugs.

Recall that the destruction exercise began on Thursday when eight containers were offloaded and all it’s contents set ablaze at the LAWMA Destruction Site in Epe, Lagos State.
As at Monday, seven remaining containers of the 48 containers were offloaded and set ablaze by a joint team of Customs and NAFDAC officials.
On ground to supervise the destruction of the pharmaceutical drugs was the ACG, Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation, Usman Dankingari and the NCS National Public Relations Officer, Timi Bomodi.
